Isla Blanca is a small peninsula in the Caribbean, with turquoise waters on one side and an endless, flat, shallow lagoon on the other.

Located just over an hour from Cancun airport and a 30-minute drive from downtown Cancun, Isla Blanca is a beautiful unspoiled beach, home to several species of birds and only a handful of kite surfers. It is a true paradise for kitesurfing, a haven of tranquility, away from the busy resorts and noisy city life.

La Punta

The wind direction doesn't matter, you can sail in La Punta, a place that looks like a page out of a travel catalog, almost every day. The conditions are perfect for everyone; beginners will enjoy the constant wind and shallow water, which will save them time (for example in Body Drags to retrieve the board), while more advanced kitesurfers can learn new tricks and keep falling, without worrying about rocks, trees or waves.

Most importantly, however, the beautiful setting of La Punta always guarantees a spectacular session, the scenery is spectacular!

Season

Between November and March, Cancun receives winds from the north that enter in the form of cold fronts. This phenomenon lasts from 2 to 4 days. The wind gets up to 30 knots (perfect for Old School tricks), the water can get quite cold and it is the only time when the coldest of the cold may need a Neoprene suit.

How to get to
Isla Blanca from Cancun?

From downtown Cancun it takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the entrance of the road that will take you to the Isla Blanca kitesurfing spot. You will take a 6 km dirt road, located just at the end of the new hotel zone. The road is not always well maintained.

However, it is in good condition and you can drive it in a normal car without any problems (it will only take another 10 minutes to do the last 3 kilometers). Once you arrive at the entrance and as it is a nature reserve, there is a small fee to pay (100 pesos – 5 dollars) per vehicle.

Wind Speed: 12 to 25 (25/ 30 on North Wind Days) – Steady and consistent.

Water conditions: Flat – Waist Deep
